About Jonanna Arnow
Joanna Arnow is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn. She recently finished her first fiction feature "The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed," which screened at Director's Fortnight in Cannes, TIFF and New York Film Festival.
Her other films include personal documentary feature “i hate myself :)” as well as narrative shorts “Laying Out” which premiered at New York Film Festival and "Bad at Dancing" which won the Berlinale Silver Bear Jury Prize. Joanna has participated in a number of development programs including Berlinale Talents, Berlinale Script Station, Gotham Week, When East Meets West, New York Film Festival Artist Academy, and was nominated for the 2024 Someone to Watch Indie Spirit Award.
In addition to making films, Joanna works as an actor and writer. She has appeared in Aaron Schimberg's “Chained for Life,” Zach Fleming’s “Staycation,” Todd Verow's "Fucked in the Head," among others. Her short stories and comics have been published in Glimmer Train Press, Popula, Monkeybicycle, Crack the Spine, Nanoism and Dogzplot.
