About Maggie Briggs
Maggie Briggs is a writer and director from Asheville, North Carolina. She co-wrote Saim Sadiq’s debut feature, Joyland (Cannes Un Certain Regard Jury Prize, Indie Spirit Award for Best International Film), and, with director Samir Oliveros, she wrote The Luckiest Man in America (TIFF, IFC Films). Her short films span narrative and animation and have screened at festivals worldwide including Clermont-Ferrand, Berlinale, and TIFF. Her projects in development as a writer/director have been supported by Tribeca Film Institute, Cine Qua Non, The Bergman Estate, and TIFF Writers’ Studio, where she received the CHANEL Women Writers’ Network Grant.
